Our fabrics are more than just materials - they are the basis for security, closeness and unforgettable moments. With great care and love, we only select high-quality and sustainable fibers such as bamboo viscose, organic cotton and Tencelthat feel like a soft hug on your baby's skin.

Why? Because we know that every touch counts. Our fabrics are breathable, temperature-regulating and gentle on baby's sensitive skin. They create an environment in which your miracle can feel safe, secure and completely comfortable - whether at home or out and about.
Jacquard weave - what exactly that means
The threads are individually twisted before being spun and woven together. Each individual warp thread (the vertical thread in the fabric) is raised and lowered separately, while the weft thread (horizontal thread in the fabric) is threaded. It allows the fabric to be woven either tighter or looser - something that affects the beautiful, fluffy feel of the fabric. This process is time-consuming, but the result is worth it: it creates high-quality, durable and beautiful fabrics with unique designs.
By the way: this is why the fabric does not unravel when there are small pulls, whereas a denim fabric almost falls apart.Â

We use every property the fabric has to offer
Many questions about our fabrics often revolve around the reason why we use so many different materials. Not only organic cotton, but also (micro)modal, bamboo viscose, linen, Tencel, hemp, cashmere or even silk offer a wide range of properties. lots of advantages, which we consciously use, to the best out of our Baby Carriers out of our products. While hemp and linen offer plenty of elasticity and firmness, which almost "conjure away" the weight, especially with larger and heavier children, the stable, warming and yet temperature-regulating cashmere is wonderfully soft to cuddle with the newborn.Â
This is precisely why parents around the world have loved the original KOKADI fabrics. Even linen or hemp, in combination with viscose, feels soft and silky. It is love, security and safety that you can feel in every fiber of our fabrics.Â
Let's take a closer look at the properties of our fabrics:
Cotton: Is the classic, beginner-friendly and a real all-rounder. Cotton is stable but also flexible and has a certain elasticity. It is also easy to care for, robust and quickly snuggles up softly. Warm and protective in winter, light and airy in summer.
Viscose: It is temperature regulating, you sweat less and it prevents unpleasant odors. The fabric has a natural antibacterial effect, is breathable and wicks away moisture. It is extremely easy to care for and less stiff than cotton due to the light weight and silky texture of the fibers, yet robust and more absorbent.Â
Linen: Linen is a very strong, hard-wearing fiber, with almost no elasticity. The structure of the linen fiber gives the cloth grip. It can therefore be much thinner and at the same time more stable than a comparable cotton cloth. However, linen cloths need a certain amount of time before they are soft to the touch. Linen is airy and cool and yet remains stable. Perfect for the summer.
Hemp: Has very similar properties to linen, the fiber is a little coarser and has slightly more elasticity. Here too, some work is required until the cloth is soft and snuggly. Cloths with linen or hemp content usually have a better grip and don't slide over each other as easily, but once tied correctly, they are bombproof. Both materials are very good for larger and heavier children suitable.
Cashmere: Can be spun coarsely or finely, is quite stable and has a little elasticity. In the winter warms and in summer it has a temperature equalizing effect. Cashmere wool is lightweight, stable and soft. The cloth becomes cozier with regular use and the lengths of cloth glide over each other perfectly. Nevertheless, once tightened, they stay in place.

(Micro)modal: is smooth, elastic and dimensionally stable even after frequent washing. It is extremely soft and cuddlyIt feels light as a feather, dries quickly, is skin-friendly and virtually crease-free. Like all natural fibers, Micromodal is hardly warm, which is pleasant in summer.
Silk: Silk shimmers, cools in summer and is very stable. It has a smooth surface that can make it easier to pull tight and the fabric panels glide over each other when tied in several layers. For this reason, however, it can also happen that threads pull out or the cloth has to be tightened again after a while.Â
Tencel: Tencel is robust and pleasantly soft. It also has an excellent resistance to bacteriashrinks and creases less, absorbs water better than cotton and dries faster.
Polyester: Polyester can be easy to clean and is often machine washablewhich saves time and reduces the amount of care required. However, despite some good properties, polyester also has its downsides: It is not breathable - so both child and wearer sweat enormously quickly -, can cause skin reactions and is prone to pilling (formation of fluff and pilling due to friction). Therefore KOKADI no Baby Carriers made from pure polyester. The maximum percentage of polyester we have used in our fabrics is usually maximum 1%. This is the glitter threadwhich is worked into the fabric.Â
