Why do I do what I do?
Because I believe that this is a bit of a "better world" that each of us sets as a goal in life.
Babies have always been carried throughout evulotion. So what they feel is RIGHT is to be carried after birth.
Their skin thirsts for the warm skin of their mother. Their eyes are exploring the different stimuli, in a safer environment. Their ears, trained during pregnancy to hear the environment are crazy to hear their mother's heartbeat. Snuggled up to the breast that smells wonderfully like mommy. Feeding them and giving them a comforting feeling in the now.
It wiggles in the sling/baby carrier, sometimes sudden noises or shapes come. But the baby doesn't care. It knows that this is right and belongs to it. In the safe arms of mama, experiencing the world is exactly what is meant for our kind.
When it gets dark, the baby sleeps with Mama. His eyes can't see sharply yet, but the skin contact, the breath, the scent of Mama makes the little earthling feel again: everything is right. Everything is good.
This is exactly why I live for carrying. Because in our society, with our intellect, we question so much that is so natural. Wearing should not be perceived as something that is fashionable. It should be perceived as what it is for me too: right. What a beautiful goal, to make your child feel right. Everything is right. Everything is right. You are right. You are good. With me, you can look forward to what was written into your DNA during the course of evulotion: Growing up in your family, in your mother's arms. Loving, warm and exciting. Safe and secure. In the here and now.
